Landscape & Outdoor Lighting

Outdoor lighting fails for two reasons: cheap fixtures that corrode in a Florida summer, and a transformer that is undersized so the far end of the run is dim. Both are avoidable at design time and expensive to fix afterward.

Scope

What we install

  • Low-voltage path, uplighting and wash lighting
  • Soffit and eave lighting on a timer or photocell
  • Security and motion lighting at entries and side yards
  • Dock and waterfront lighting
  • Line-voltage exterior circuits and outlets in weatherproof enclosures
  • Replacing failed systems from a previous installer
How we work

How we do it

  • A transformer sized with voltage drop calculated, so the last fixture is as bright as the first
  • Brass or copper fixtures where the budget allows, because they outlast aluminum many times over in this climate
  • Buried runs at proper depth, in conduit where they cross beds and drives
  • Aimed at night, with you there, because that is the only time you can actually aim it

Questions

Common questions

Why did my last system fail?

Usually corroded aluminum fixtures, or an undersized transformer that ran the far fixtures at low voltage until they burned out.

Solar or wired?

Solar is fine for a marker light. For anything you actually want to see by, wired low-voltage is not close.

Will you dig up my yard?

We use narrow trenching along bed lines and edges. Turf recovers within a couple of weeks.
