Electrical Troubleshooting & Repair

Half a room dead, a breaker that keeps tripping, lights that dim when the AC kicks on. We find the actual cause instead of replacing parts until it stops.

Electrical Troubleshooting & Repair

Most electrical problems are not where they show up. A dead outlet in a bedroom is usually a failed connection somewhere else on the circuit, often in a box nobody has opened in twenty years. We trace it properly before we quote a repair.

Do not wait on this: Anything hot, buzzing, sparking, or smelling of burnt plastic is not a wait-and-see problem. Shut the breaker off and call.
Signs

When to call us out

  • A breaker trips repeatedly, or trips as soon as you reset it
  • Outlets or a whole room went dead with no obvious cause
  • Lights flicker or dim when a large appliance starts
  • A switch, outlet or breaker is warm, discolored, or smells hot
  • You hear buzzing or crackling from a panel, switch or fixture
  • A GFCI keeps tripping and will not reset

Questions

Common questions

How much does a diagnostic call cost?

A flat fee quoted on the phone before we come out, so there is no meter running while we work. If you go ahead with the repair the same day, that fee comes off the repair price.

Can you fix it the same visit?

Usually. Common failures like outlets, switches, breakers and junction connections get repaired on the spot. Anything needing a part we do not stock, we price and schedule before we leave.

What if the problem is intermittent?

Tell us what triggers it and roughly when it started. Intermittent faults are almost always a loose connection or a failing device, and both leave evidence we can find with the right instruments.
