Whole-Home Surge Protection
Central Florida sits in the highest lightning density in the United States. Most surge damage is not a direct strike. It is the smaller, repeated surges that quietly shorten the life of everything with a circuit board in it. A panel-mounted device clamps those at the service entrance before they reach anything.
Worth doing if
- You have lost electronics, an AC board, or an appliance to a storm before
- You have solar, a pool pump, a well pump, or a variable-speed system
- The house is full of LED fixtures and smart devices
- You just paid for a panel upgrade and want to protect it
- Your power blinks often during summer storms
What we install
- A Type 2 device mounted at the panel, on a dedicated breaker
- Proper short lead length, the single biggest factor in whether it actually works
- Point-of-use protection at sensitive equipment where it makes sense
- Warranty registration paperwork left with you

Common questions
Does it replace surge strips?
No, it works with them. The panel device takes the large events at the service; a good strip handles what is left at the equipment. Layered is how this is supposed to work.
Will it survive a direct strike?
Nothing survives a direct strike to the structure. What this protects against is everything else, which is the overwhelming majority of surge damage.
How long do they last?
Several years in this climate, and they wear out by absorbing hits. Most have an indicator light. Check it after a bad storm season.
